What is the Last Wish raid?

Last Wish is one of Destiny 2's long-running raids. It launched on September 14, 2018 alongside the Forsaken expansion and takes place in the heart of the Dreaming City, where the team confronts the Taken-corrupted Techeun Riven, the last of her kind, inside her own domain.

It is a six-player, no-matchmaking raid, so you need a full fireteam and voice communication. According to the Destiny wiki, the world's first clear took the winning clan 18 hours and 48 minutes, and that clear changed the state of the Dreaming City. Today it is a core part of the raid library and a common first choice for players who want a long, mechanics-rich raid.

Last Wish at a glance

  • Released: September 14, 2018, with the Forsaken expansion
  • Location: The Dreaming City, in the center of the city
  • Fireteam size: six Guardians, no matchmaking
  • Encounters: six stages: Kalli, Shuro Chi, Morgeth, the Vault, Riven and the Queenswalk
  • Power and difficulty: check the recommended power in the in-game Director, since it changes over time
  • Clear length: varies widely with the team and how many mechanics are new to you; your Sherpa gives an estimate on your order page

Is Last Wish in the weekly rotation?

Last Wish appears in third-party November 2026 rotation trackers, which list it as one of the featured raids for the week of November 24. Featured raids offer bonus rewards, but any raid can still be launched from the Director when it is not featured. Rotation can change, so confirm in-game and see our weekly rotation post below before you book.

Raid management: how to run Last Wish from start to finish

Use this checklist before the first encounter and between every attempt. The per-encounter steps follow in the encounter guide.

  1. Before you queue, check the team. You need six Guardians on voice chat. Confirm everyone can hear the caller and has updated the game. Ask who is new to Last Wish so the caller can explain mechanics first.
  2. Set checkpoints and progress. Raids save a checkpoint after some encounters. Check the checkpoint message in-game after each encounter and make sure everyone has it before anyone leaves (exact checkpoint locations: confirm in-game).
  3. Agree roles for the first encounter. Name one main caller and one backup. Decide pairs, sides and who handles adds before anyone pulls. Use the role chart below as a starting point.
  4. Check loadouts and ammo. Bring a mix of add-clear and boss-damage weapons. Pick up heavy ammo before each damage phase, and tell the team if you swap weapons between attempts.
  5. Agree the finisher plan. Decide who spends a super, who uses heavy ammo and who holds back for the final stand or last damage window. Say it out loud so nobody spends a super early.
  6. Pace the run. After each encounter, stop for 30 to 60 seconds: loot, restock ammo, check everyone is ready and have the caller explain the next encounter. Do not pull until all six say ready.
  7. Run callouts the same way every time. One caller speaks, others answer with short repeats ('left, copy'). Use agreed names for positions and symbols, and stay quiet during timed moments unless you are the caller.
  8. Recover from a wipe. Stay calm. The caller says which step failed, the team changes one thing, and you try again. Do not change several roles at once, because then nobody knows what fixed it.
  9. Take breaks at the right time. Stop between encounters after a checkpoint, not in the middle of one. If someone must leave, tell the team first. They can rejoin through a fireteam invite once the checkpoint is held (confirm the checkpoint in-game before leaving).

Encounter guide

Last Wish has six stages plus a puzzle room inside the Shuro Chi fight. Each one below is a numbered list in play order, with the wipe recovery step last. Where our sources disagree or we could only confirm a detail from one guide, the step says to confirm it in-game.

Diagram: the 7 stages of Last Wish in order, each with its one-line goal.

1. Kalli, the Corrupted

Goal: Capture plates, kill the right Knights and reach the safe rooms before her wipe attack.

  1. Start: all six Guardians gather in the Kalli arena before pulling. Agree out loud on the caller, the three pairs of two, and which safe room each player will use.
  2. Symbols: give each pair its symbols. Every player calls their symbol when it appears so the pair never guesses (how symbols map to plates: confirm in-game).
  3. Plates: each plate has three sections, and two random sections spawn bombs. Stand on the safe section and tell your partner which section is clear.
  4. Knight trigger: after three explosions a Knight spawns. Kill the Knight that matches your pair's symbol. Each correct Knight unlocks three safe rooms.
  5. Wrong symbol: a plate with the wrong symbol spawns an ogre. One player kills it, while the rest step off the plate and keep their own plates safe.
  6. Wipe-attack trigger: when the message 'Kalli prepares to wield her weapon' appears, drop what you are doing and go to your safe room. One player per room.
  7. Damage: use the openings your caller names to damage Kalli. The exact damage window length is not confirmed in the guides we checked: confirm in-game.
  8. Repeat: the plate, Knight and safe-room cycle runs three times. Keep the same pairs and rooms each cycle so nobody has to think.
  9. After a wipe: everyone returns to the start of the encounter (confirm in-game whether a checkpoint moved you forward), the caller names the step where it broke, and you reassign roles before pulling again.

2. Shuro Chi, the Corrupted

Goal: Keep the four-minute timer alive and deal damage until Shuro Chi is down to 1/6 health.

  1. Start: pick one timer caller. Each level has a four-minute timer, and the puzzle room (next section) resets it.
  2. Eye of Riven: an Eye of Riven Knight drops the Eye. Whoever takes it cannot take another for 90 seconds, so call who grabbed it.
  3. Crystals: three players shoot the three crystals so they form a triangle. That drops her shield.
  4. Damage: with the shield down, everyone damages her. Keep going until she is at 1/6 health, then go to the puzzle room.
  5. Wipe attack: use the Eye's super to interrupt her wipe attack. Decide before the fight who spends it.
  6. Clear adds: two players kill adds so the crystal shooters are not interrupted.
  7. After a wipe: everyone returns to the start of the encounter (confirm in-game whether a checkpoint moved you forward), the caller names the step where it broke, and you reassign roles before pulling again.

3. Shuro Chi puzzle room

Goal: Solve the nine-button wall puzzle to reset the timer.

  1. Start: the whole team enters the room with the nine floor buttons and the three wall images.
  2. Match: each wall image tells you which buttons to press. A button can only be used once across the whole puzzle, so write the plan out loud first.
  3. Press: jump on the buttons for one image at the same time. Pressing in sync is part of the puzzle.
  4. Next image: repeat for the second and third images with buttons nobody has used.
  5. Trigger: finishing the puzzle resets the timer. Return to the Shuro Chi fight.
  6. After a wipe: everyone returns to the start of the encounter (confirm in-game whether a checkpoint moved you forward), the caller names the step where it broke, and you reassign roles before pulling again.

4. Morgeth, the Spirekeeper

Goal: Keep Taken Strength under control, cleanse Umbral Enervation and damage Morgeth.

  1. Start: split into two groups of three. Each group has two collectors and one cleanser.
  2. Strength limit: collectors pick up Taken Strength, but nobody holds more than two. A third kills the carrier. Call your count whenever it changes.
  3. Rotate: when a collector is at two, another player takes the next one.
  4. Enervation: a player with Umbral Enervation must be cleansed within 20 seconds. The cleanser kills an Eye of Riven and uses its Taken Essence.
  5. Essence: Taken Essence stays on the ground for 45 seconds, so grab it fast and do not leave it behind.
  6. Super check: at roughly 90% boss health, spend a super to stop his wipe attack (confirm the exact health point in-game).
  7. Last strength: the final strength spawns in front of Morgeth. The player carrying the least strength grabs it.
  8. After a wipe: everyone returns to the start of the encounter (confirm in-game whether a checkpoint moved you forward), the caller names the step where it broke, and you reassign roles before pulling again.

5. The Vault

Goal: Put the right essence in the right place before the three-minute timer ends.

  1. Start: the vault has three arenas, called tree, ball and rock. Place players in each before the timer starts and agree on callout names.
  2. Timer: each round has a three-minute timer. Name one player to call the clock.
  3. Essence: kill Eyes of Riven to get essence. The left duplicate needs Penumbra and the right duplicate needs Antumbra (one guide spells it 'Anthumbra': confirm in-game).
  4. Wrong essence: using the wrong essence makes it explode, so say the type out loud before you drop it.
  5. Knights: Might of Riven Knights appear in numbers that grow by round (1, 2, then 3). Kill them before they reach the plates.
  6. Finish: after the essence is placed, three beams finish the round.
  7. Repeat: keep the same positions for all rounds.
  8. After a wipe: everyone returns to the start of the encounter (confirm in-game whether a checkpoint moved you forward), the caller names the step where it broke, and you reassign roles before pulling again.

6. Riven of a Thousand Voices

Goal: Call the glowing eyes, shoot them in order and finish Riven in her final stand.

  1. Start: split 3 and 3 into the blue and yellow rooms. Pick one caller per room.
  2. Eyes: one team calls out the glowing eyes. Shooting a wrong eye is a wipe, so wait for the call.
  3. Orb first: shoot the Taken orb in the mouth, then shoot the eyes that were called.
  4. Top level: the gate appears several times. The first three appearances give six eyes. The fourth appearance has the orb.
  5. Ascendant Atrophy: handle the debuff as it appears. Call who has it and how it is cleansed (confirm in-game).
  6. Final stand: shoot into her mouth to destroy the Taken Blight.
  7. After a wipe: everyone returns to the start of the encounter (confirm in-game whether a checkpoint moved you forward), the caller names the step where it broke, and you reassign roles before pulling again.

7. The Queenswalk (Riven's Heart)

Goal: Carry the heart to the statue.

  1. Start: the game picks the carrier at random. The carrier has a 15-second timer, and a bubble aura protects the team.
  2. Stay in the bubble: leaving it stacks Creeping Darkness, and ten stacks kill. Stay together.
  3. Reset the timer: players in the realm collect beams to reset the carrier's timer.
  4. Backtrack: the team walks back through the raid. Call each area as you leave it.
  5. Finish: dunk the heart at the statue.
  6. After a wipe: everyone returns to the start of the encounter (confirm in-game whether a checkpoint moved you forward), the caller names the step where it broke, and you reassign roles before pulling again.

Fireteam roles and loadout for Last Wish

There is no single required build for Last Wish. Instead, think in roles: who clears adds, who handles the central mechanic and who deals boss damage. Roles rotate by encounter, so every player should know all of them.

Good teams also agree on one main caller per encounter. Too many voices cause more wipes than any weapon choice.

  • Add clear: a primary or special weapon that clears Taken waves quickly.
  • Boss damage: a heavy weapon you know well, and a plan for when your super is ready.
  • Survivability: a build with healing or damage resistance for hectic moments.
  • Ammo: bring a mix of ammo types so no single weapon runs dry mid-encounter.
  • Mods and exotics: choose ones you have used before, and avoid last-minute experiments.

How do I prepare for Last Wish?

  • Update the game and check the recommended power in the in-game Director.
  • Bring weapons for different damage needs and a build you know well.
  • Use a headset so you can hear callouts, and tell the team if you are new.
  • Pick a role for each encounter before you launch.
  • Keep a spare weapon set in your vault for different jobs.
  • Turn on two-factor sign-in for your account.

Common Last Wish mistakes

  • Talking over the caller during the Vault or Riven puzzles.
  • Changing loadouts between attempts without telling the team.
  • Ignoring timers on Shuro Chi, Morgeth and the Queenswalk.
  • Rushing past a mechanic nobody has explained yet.
  • Not assigning a hiding room for Kalli's wipe attack.
  • Leaving adds alive that feed the boss mechanic.

Last Wish rewards and triumphs

According to the Destiny wiki, Last Wish loot includes the exotic fusion rifle One Thousand Voices and legendary weapons such as The Supremacy, Apex Predator, Transfiguration, Nation of Beasts, Techeun Force, Chattering Bone, Age-Old Bond and Tyranny of Heaven, plus the Great Hunt armor sets for Hunter, Titan and Warlock. Cosmetic rewards include the Dreaming Spectrum and Dreaming Cast shaders and the Wish-Maker shell.

Drops are random, and which items you can earn can change with the weekly rotation and the current reward system. Check the in-game Triumphs and Collections screens for the current list and any seal or title requirements; we have not verified a seal for this raid, so we do not promise one.

How does a Last Wish carry work?

A Guardian Sherpa carry is self-play: you play your own account, and an experienced Sherpa joins your fireteam and guides you through every encounter. You order the Last Wish raid carry, confirm your platform, Bungie name and a time window on a private order page, and a Sherpa accepts the order. You can cancel for a full refund until a Sherpa accepts. At the agreed time you receive a normal in-game fireteam invite and the run begins, with callouts and explanations before each encounter.

On self-play orders we never ask for your password, your email login or your platform credentials. Piloted orders need secure account access, shared only after payment through your private order page. Because you stay signed in on your own account, you also keep every drop the game gives you. Afterwards you have a 48-hour review window to tell us how the run went.

What is a flawless run?

A flawless run is one finished without a death. We play toward that goal but cannot guarantee in-game results. Last Wish is a good fit for a flawless goal because its mechanics are learnable, but its wipe mechanics are unforgiving, so a flawless run takes careful play.

Is a carry safe for my account?

Self-play carries less risk than services that log in for you, but no provider can promise zero risk. Turn on two-factor sign-in for your account and read our account safety page.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Last Wish carry cost?

A Last Wish self-play carry is $45 for a full clear and $90 for a flawless-goal run (no deaths) at Guardian Sherpa. Prices are shown before checkout, there are no hidden fees, and the WELCOME20 code takes 20% off a first order. See the Last Wish carry page for the current price.

How long does a Last Wish run take?

Time varies with the team, how many encounters are new to you and whether you choose the flawless goal. Your Sherpa gives an estimate on your order page before the run starts and explains each encounter as you go, which adds a little time but saves wipes.

What power level do I need for Last Wish?

Check the recommended power shown in the in-game Director for Last Wish and bring a character at or near it. Your Sherpa checks your character before the run and can suggest a quick power catch-up if you are under the recommendation.

Do I have to share my Destiny 2 login?

For self-play orders, no. You stay signed in on your own account and you stay signed in on your own account and join our fireteam through a normal in-game invite. On self-play orders we never ask for your password, your email login or your platform credentials. Piloted orders need secure account access, shared only after payment through your private order page. Read the account safety page for the full policy.

Can I cancel my order for a refund?

Yes, up to the moment a Sherpa accepts your order. Until then you can cancel from your order page for a full refund to the original payment method. After a Sherpa accepts, the customer-side cancel option closes, but our team can still cancel, refund or reschedule if something goes wrong. See the refund policy.

How do I book and what happens next?

Pick the run type on the product page and check out. You get a private order page where you confirm your platform, Bungie name and a time window. A Sherpa accepts the order, you receive a fireteam invite at the agreed time, and you play the activity together. Afterwards you have a 48-hour review window. The step-by-step guide covers each stage.

What are the encounters in Last Wish?

Last Wish has six stages in order: Kalli, the Corrupted; Shuro Chi, the Corrupted; Morgeth, the Spirekeeper; the Vault; Riven of a Thousand Voices; and the Queenswalk. Each asks the team to split into smaller groups and follow callouts. Your Sherpa explains each stage before it starts, so you do not need to memorize the raid in advance.

Is Last Wish in the current raid rotation?

Rotation trackers list Last Wish in the November 2026 schedule, with a featured week on November 24. Rotation can change, so check the in-game Director and our weekly rotation post for the latest. Whether or not it is featured, you can still book a Last Wish carry, and your Sherpa will confirm the schedule on your order page.
