Quick answer: Sundered Doctrine is a Destiny 2 dungeon released on February 7, 2025 with Episode: Heresy. It is a riddle dungeon set in Savathûn's Throne World, built around lenses, symbols and truths versus lies, and it ends with Kerrev, the Erased. Clear callouts matter most. A Guardian Sherpa carry lets you play your own account while a guide explains each mechanic.
What is the Sundered Doctrine dungeon?
Sundered Doctrine launched on February 7, 2025 as part of Episode: Heresy and supports a fireteam of one to three Guardians (Destinypedia, esports.gg). It is set in Savathûn's Throne World, where Dread and Hive try to unlock a vault. Its encounters are the Riddle, the boss Zoetic Lockset and the final boss Kerrev, the Erased, with traversal sections between them. Destinypedia lists six stages: Find the Path, Solve the Riddle, Navigate the Maze, Open the Locks, Locate the Vault and Defeat Kerrev, the Erased.
Entry requirements and power differ between sources: Destinypedia lists a recommended power of 1965, while esports.gg describes a higher power requirement plus the Final Shape dungeon key and the Drowning Labyrinth quest. Current requirements differ, so confirm in the in-game Director. The dungeon launched in Contest Mode for the first 48 hours, and Normal Mode opened after the first clear (esports.gg). Typical clear length depends on team experience and we do not publish a fixed figure.

How do you manage a Sundered Doctrine dungeon run?
These are team-practice steps we recommend for any three-player dungeon, not game rules.
- Before you queue: agree the three jobs (caller who reads the symbols, lens runner, and add control or damage), who revives first and who holds Heavy ammo for bosses. Write them in party chat.
- Set up comms: all three on voice chat, one caller per encounter, and a rule that only the caller talks during riddles.
- Loadouts: bring a build you already know, with a Strand resist mod if you can, because Kerrev uses Strand attacks. Pack weapons for adds, bosses and long range, and check ammo types before each boss.
- Riddle plan: decide who reads the symbols aloud and who confirms. Say 'true' or 'lie' out loud before anyone turns a lens.
- Finisher plan: decide who takes the Grims, Wizards and Unwritten Attendants that unlock progress, and who stays on the lenses or wheels.
- Checkpoints and progress: confirm in-game how your team's progress is saved this week before leaving the dungeon. Do not assume you can leave mid-encounter and rejoin where you left off.
- Pacing: take one encounter at a time. After each clear, loot, reload ammo, swap weapons and revisit the next encounter's jobs before you move.
- Running callouts: the caller states the phase, the next trigger and each person's job. Players confirm with one word. Silence means 'got it'; ask if unsure.
- After a wipe: do not rush back. Spend 30 seconds naming what failed (wrong symbol, broken lens, a spawn you ignored, a dead runner), assign the fix to one person, and re-enter.
- When to pause: after three failed attempts with the same mistake, take a break, swap the lens runner or switch the caller. Fatigue causes most repeated wipes.
Sundered Doctrine encounter guide
Sundered Doctrine has three encounters, an opening section and two traversal sections. The steps below follow The Game Post and Dot Esports, with Destinypedia and esports.gg used to cross-check names and dates. Where guides do not agree or we could not verify a detail, we say "confirm in-game".
Opening section: finding the path
Goal: Reach the Riddle room with your team and ammo intact.
- Head downstairs to a room where Ikora's Guardians are examining artifacts, go right and cross a bridge to a closed door (The Game Post).
- Jump up on the left and take the opening on the right. Fight Dread and two non-boss Subjugators, which can be crowd-controlled and finished with finishers.
- In the back right room, drop down through the opening, pass another Subjugator, then look up for two red lights and drop through the small waterfall opening to reach the first encounter.
- Optional: a hallway before the encounter lets you aim at the symbols to hear their names (The Game Post). Learning them first saves time in the Riddle.
1. The Riddle
Goal: Use lenses to direct a beam of darkness to the correct symbol plate in one of four side rooms.
- Rotate the centre darkness lens to begin. Darkness nodes appear over the starting lenses; shoot a node to activate its lens. Each lens has three directions (The Game Post).
- Find the missing symbol. Either defeat a Truthspeaker Major Grim to learn it, or solve the riddle from the symbols you already know (the guide gives the example 'Traveler gives Light').
- Defeat Subjugators to collect lenses. A defeated Subjugator respawns after you take its lens and leave the room. A typical path needs three or four lenses.
- Place lenses so the beam reaches the correct symbol plate. A lens connected to the beam breaks after three rotations, so rotate lenses before placing them.
- Going to the wrong circle spawns a Tormentor in the centre, so confirm with your caller before committing.
- The encounter has three phases: one completed beam, then two beams from different starting lenses (two symbols are missing, so you need at least one Grim), then three beams. Only one Major Grim spawns at a time, so complete each beam in turn.
- Prioritise add clear and damage. The Game Post calls the non-miniboss Subjugators the hardest enemies and notes that a Queensbreaker can blind whole rooms.
After a wipe: Restate which symbols are known, which room each runner owns and who calls 'true' or 'lie'. Rotating a lens too many times is the usual cause.
Traversal: the maze and the first secret chest
- Continue through the passage under the chest into a maze. Shooting three darkness cruxes spawns the first secret chest (The Game Post).
- Defeat the miniboss attendants in a large room, go through the door on the right, drop down on the left and slide carefully down the slope.
- Reach the tunnel with rolling spiked balls by jumping between alcoves. The door in the middle of the ramp leads to the next encounter. Confirm the route in-game.
2. Zoetic Lockset
Goal: Set the wheels so the Shriekers' gaze triggers the Kill symbol, then burst the Zoetic Lockset.
- The boss is a construct of Shriekers (The Game Post). Each wheel shows a glowing symbol and a rotating indicator. Shoot the crux above a wheel to reverse its rotation.
- Defeat Hive Wizards to collect Resonance Splinters. Dunk one to three splinters on a wheel to move its symbol. Carrying more gives a bigger buff: Heightened Knowledge (1), Brimming Knowledge (2) and Overflowing Knowledge (3).
- Know the symbol effects when a Shrieker gazes at a wheel: Hive spawns an Ogre, Brain spawns a Knight and Wizards, Stop does nothing, Commune makes bosses spawn Resonance Seekers, and Kill starts the damage phase.
- A bar at the top locks wheels from right to left at each quarter notch. The ideal lock described is three Stops and one Kill on the leftmost plate. Change any Hive wheel quickly to stop Ogre spawns.
- Order of operations from The Game Post: defeat Wizards for Knowledge, set the rightmost wheel to Stop, change any Hive wheels, set the second and third wheels from the right to Stop, then set the leftmost wheel to Kill.
- Group up and damage any Shrieker during the Kill window. Repeat as needed.
- That guide suggests damage from Sleeper Simulant, Grand Overture and snipers, plus Well of Radiance or Storm's Keep barricades. Use whatever you already play well.
After a wipe: Agree which wheel each Guardian owns, who carries splinters and who watches the locking bar. Leaving a Hive wheel set is the usual cause.
Traversal: opening the way to the boss
- Move one of the Shrieker's eyes to the rounded spot in front of the loot chest to open the door (The Game Post).
- In the room with darkness lenses, climb the fossilized work on the right to reach the second secret chest. Complete both lens paths to open the door.
- Shoot the glowing door in the next room to keep it open, climb the platform, turn around and jump through the door, then cross the collection room to the boss.
3. Kerrev, the Erased
Goal: Work out which side of the central dial is the lie, set the lenses, then damage Kerrev while hiding from the obelisk.
- The arena has three rooms: middle, left and right. The boss stands in the middle room in front of a dial with three symbols per side. Split the dial vertically. One side is true and the other is a lie (The Game Post, Dot Esports).
- If you are not sure which side is true, defeat a Truthspeaker Grim in a side room. It reveals a symbol from the true group, so pick the other side as the lie.
- Use the lenses in all three rooms to shine beams on the lies and turn them away from the truths.
- Some lenses, pillars or nodes are locked by Strand. Defeat an Unwritten Attendant to gain Unwritten Empowerment, which lets you break Strand locks. Dot Esports describes shooting the darkness splinters around a lens.
- Once the lenses are set, press the button in front of the central plate. Break line of sight with the obelisk while it burns away the boss's shield.
- Deal damage while Kerrev is vulnerable. When damage ends, the obelisk burns again, so take cover behind a pillar. Hide again during the stomp attack (Dot Esports).
- Repeat the cycle until he dies. A faster plan from Dot Esports puts one player in each side room and one in the middle to read the symbols and adjust lenses.
- Kerrev moves often and uses Strand pull and suspend, and revives can cause a wipe quickly. Healing and defence matter; a Strand resist mod is recommended (The Game Post).
After a wipe: Restate which side is the lie, who owns each side room and who calls the cover. Revive attempts under the burn are the usual cause.

What roles and loadout work in Sundered Doctrine?
A three-Guardian dungeon works best when every slot has a clear job before the first room. The chart below uses generic archetypes. No specific weapon or subclass is mandatory, and the best loadout is the one you already know how to play well.
Bring weapons for three jobs: adds, bosses and long-range threats, and keep Heavy ammo for the damage windows. A Strand resist mod and a way to heal the team help against Kerrev.
How do I prepare for Sundered Doctrine?
- Update the game and check the entry requirements and recommended power in the in-game Director.
- Bring weapons for different damage needs and a build you know well, with a Strand resist mod if possible.
- Use a headset so you can hear callouts.
- Turn on two-factor sign-in for your account.
- Agree on a caller and lens runners before you start.
- Pick a time window when you can play without interruption.
What are the most common Sundered Doctrine mistakes?
- Rotating a lens too many times so it breaks, or pointing a beam at the wrong circle and spawning a Tormentor.
- Guessing which side of the Kerrev dial is the lie instead of killing a Truthspeaker Grim.
- Leaving a Hive wheel set in Zoetic Lockset so Ogres keep spawning.
- Reviving inside the obelisk burn and wiping the team.
- Spending Heavy ammo and Supers on adds instead of saving them for damage windows.
- Skipping the pre-fight briefing and trying to learn the riddles mid-wipe.
- Talking over each other, which hides the one callout that matters.
What rewards does Sundered Doctrine offer?
Destinypedia lists the exotic Finality's Auger, a Solar linear fusion rifle, and four Legendary weapons: Unloved (Strand hand cannon), Unsworn (Strand trace rifle), Unworthy (Arc scout rifle) and Unvoiced (Void shotgun). It also lists the Flain Suit armor sets for each class and the Future Proof sparrow. esports.gg reports that completing the dungeon within the first 48 hours earned a special emblem and the exotic. We did not confirm a seal name on the sources we checked, so we do not list one.

Drop tables, drop rates and rewards can change between seasons. Always confirm in game, and do not treat any drop as guaranteed on a given run.
How does a Sundered Doctrine carry work?
A Guardian Sherpa carry is a guided self-play run. You stay signed in on your own account and play every encounter yourself, while an experienced Sherpa joins your fireteam, explains each mechanic and helps the team stay on track. We never ask for your password on self-play orders. See the Sundered Doctrine dungeon carry for the options; it is listed from $29 for a full clear, and the flawless-goal option is $58.
- Pick the run type on the product page and check out.
- Open your private order page and confirm your platform, Bungie name and a time window.
- You can cancel for a full refund until a Sherpa accepts your order.
- A Sherpa accepts the order and sends a normal in-game fireteam invite at the agreed time.
- You play the dungeon together on your own account, with each encounter explained.
- After the run you have a 48-hour review window.

What is included, and what is not?
- Included: a guided, self-play run with an experienced Guardian, a private order page, encounter explanations and a 48-hour review window.
- Not included: account sharing (Guardian Sherpa only sells self-play), cheats or exploits, guaranteed drops, guaranteed completion times or any promise of in-game results.
What is a flawless run?
A flawless run is one finished without a death. We play toward that goal but cannot guarantee in-game results.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a Sundered Doctrine carry cost?
A Sundered Doctrine self-play carry is $29 for a full clear and $58 for a flawless-goal run (no deaths) at Guardian Sherpa. Prices are shown before checkout, there are no hidden fees, and the WELCOME20 code takes 20% off a first order. See the Sundered Doctrine carry page for the current price.
How long does a Sundered Doctrine run take?
Time varies with the team, how many riddles are new to you and whether you choose the flawless goal. Your Sherpa gives an estimate on your order page before the run starts and explains each encounter as you go, which adds a little time but saves wipes.
What power level and unlocks do I need for Sundered Doctrine?
Check the entry requirements and recommended power shown in the in-game Director for Sundered Doctrine and bring a character at or near it. Published guides list different figures, so we do not quote one. Your Sherpa checks your character before the run and can suggest a quick power catch-up if you are under the recommendation.
How do you tell which symbols are the lie in Sundered Doctrine?
Split the central dial in two and read each side top to bottom. One side is true and one is a lie. If you are unsure, defeat a Truthspeaker Grim in a side room, which reveals a true symbol, then aim lenses at the lies and away from the truths.
Do I have to share my Destiny 2 login?
For self-play orders, no. You stay signed in on your own account and you stay signed in on your own account and join our fireteam through a normal in-game invite. On self-play orders we never ask for your password, your email login or your platform credentials. Piloted orders need secure account access, shared only after payment through your private order page. Read the account safety page for the full policy.
Can I cancel my order for a refund?
Yes, up to the moment a Sherpa accepts your order. Until then you can cancel from your order page for a full refund to the original payment method. After a Sherpa accepts, the customer-side cancel option closes, but our team can still cancel, refund or reschedule if something goes wrong. See the refund policy.
How do I book and what happens next?
Pick the run type on the product page and check out. You get a private order page where you confirm your platform, Bungie name and a time window. A Sherpa accepts the order, you receive a fireteam invite at the agreed time, and you play the activity together. Afterwards you have a 48-hour review window. The step-by-step guide covers each stage.
